sales and marketing...

I have been doing a sales summer internship and thankfully due to the co-operative environment of the organisation the full heat of the sales-manship hasn't been turned on. However having been there for a more than a month now one conclusion is......What the hell are they teaching in MBA colleges?? You don't need to read Kotler to be able to sell an idea. Maybe for creating one you do but then if Kotler and many other successful marketers did not need to attend a marketing/sales class each day why should anyone? it's all in the mind. I'm pitching in financial producst and believe me having through knowledge about your product and quey solving is the ONLY thing that generates faith in a prospective buyer's mind. I credit the good rate of my pithing only to my finance background and extra knowledge through whcih I could make the client feel he was talking ot a genuine person and a fake salesperson....so all in all I'm glad I got a taste of both sides.
